Volleyball pics from Hajraa

Mid-attack at Hajraa - Flamingo’s’56 volleyball match on February 9th 2008Yes! The first pictures coming from my new camera that I’m actually satisfied with. :D The very first ‘test drive’ with my camera were also volleyball pictures at Hajraa (the volleyball club I’m with), but those were only ‘nice pictures’. Fun to watch for those involved and maybe volleyball enthusiasts. That was because I was photographing at (almost) the same eye-level as the players and spectators. This leads to pictures with a boring viewpoint and -in this case- to a lot of distracting stuff in the background. Remember my last post about focusing? ;)

So, this time I took a bit more trouble. First I got up to a meeting room with a view on the court from just under the ceiling, which was already a big improvement to me. Then I climbed even higher, onto the ceiling which has big holes trough which I could take pictures from right above the court. Just too bad I didn’t take a picture of my position there… :) Can you imagine a first day of snow, with a fresh layer of, say, 5 cm (2 inches)? Now change that snow for dust and you get an idea of how I was looking when I got back down. :P But, up on the ceiling I got my best photo’s of this shoot! :D So I think it was worth the expedition… what do you think?
