Shots at band performance in bar Wilhelmina
Last time I went to bar Wilhelmina was about one year back. And it was for the same reason: every once in a while there’s a ‘Bands Night’, where some five or six bands get half an hour to show what they’ve got. It’s fun for the visitors, because of the variation in music during the evening and it’s a nice opportunity for (starting) bands to get some ’stage time’.
Just like last year I went there because a friend and volleyball-teammate of me -Michael- was playing with his band. At the start of the evening they draw the playing-schedule, so everybody’s got a fair chance of getting a nice time-slot. As you can imagine, playing at the very start or very end of the evening is less favorable. Unfortunately, Michael’s band got drawn last, meaning they got scheduled at 23.30 h. Naturally this time slips, so their actual start was half an hour past midnight… pretty late for a regular weekday! So most of the visitors already left by that time.

Too bad for them, because they missed out on a decent performance! Although they need to work on their interaction with the crowd, their musical capabilities are quite decent and the tracklist features some self-written songs which sets them apart from the numerous cover bands.
Go check their act here - alas without sound, but don’t worry: they’ll be playing in a stadium near you anytime soon! ![]()
